Canopius Group, a global specialty and P&C reinsurer, today celebrates the appointment of Chris Getty as Cyber and Technology Underwriter.
Chris, who comes with a robust background in cyber insurance, has been appointed to further strengthen Canopius’ cyber and technology capabilities. He will directly report to Mike Shen, Head of Cyber & Technology in the London Market.
Canopius operates as a global specialty P&C (Property and Casualty) and reinsurance company, providing a wide range of insurance solutions. The firm is known for its significant expertise and capacity in the insurance markets, making it a key player in providing bespoke insurance coverage worldwide.
Chris Getty brings more than nine years of experience in cyber insurance, making a significant mark in the industry. Before joining Canopius, he was the Head of Cyber and Technology at Talbot Underwriting, where he led underwriting teams in both London and New York. Chris began his career with Barlow Lyde & Gilbert LLP and is also a qualified solicitor, which adds a rich layer of legal expertise to his underwriting skills.
The hiring of Chris Getty is part of Canopius’ broader strategy to enhance its cyber and technology team. Earlier this year, the company also appointed Sam Minshaw as Cyber Claims Manager and Alex Fyfe and Catherine Sims as Cyber Claims Adjusters in London and New York respectively. These strategic hires underscore Canopius’ commitment to expanding its global offerings in cyber insurance.
