German digital tax platform Taxfix has announced its acquisition of TaxScouts, a firm known for its accountant-assisted digital tax services.
According to TechEU, Taxfix, established in Germany, has made significant strides across Europe by simplifying tax filing processes with cutting-edge technology. On the other hand, TaxScouts, since its inception in 2017, has been pivotal in transforming tax filing in the UK and Spain with the aid of over 150 tax accountants.
The acquisition serves as a strategic entry for Taxfix into the UK market, bolstering its position as a leading player in the European FinTech industry. It also aims to enhance customer experience in tax filing across four key European markets: Germany, the UK, Spain, and Italy. Although the financial details of the transaction were not disclosed, the move is seen as a significant step in Taxfix’s broader European expansion strategy.
Taxfix is a prominent digital tax filing platform that has revolutionized the way taxes are filed in Europe. By utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning, Taxfix offers a simplified, user-friendly platform that assists millions of users in navigating the complex world of taxes, significantly reducing the time and stress involved in tax filing.
TaxScouts has carved a niche in the UK and Spanish markets with its unique approach to digital tax filing. Supported by a robust team of tax professionals in London, Madrid, and Tallinn, TaxScouts combines technology with professional oversight, providing a seamless tax filing experience tailored to the needs of diverse users.
This acquisition marks another milestone for Taxfix, which previously acquired Steuerbot in 2023, and continues to demonstrate a sustainable growth trajectory. TaxScouts will integrate into the Taxfix Group, with the existing team expected to bring their expertise to further enhance the combined offerings of the group in Europe.
The TaxScouts team, including its 40 employees, will join Taxfix, promoting greater collaboration and innovation across their markets. Malcolm Cowley, CEO of TaxScouts, will continue leading the TaxScouts brand within the Taxfix Group, alongside founders Kaupo Korv and Daniel Karger, who will remain as CPO and CTO respectively.
Taxfix CEO Martin Ott said, “The acquisition of TaxScouts marks a significant step in our European expansion. Tax filing can be a daunting and painful process for so many people across Europe, and with TaxScouts, we share the same mission: to break down barriers and empower users to take control of their finances, starting with their tax return.”
TaxScouts CEO Malcolm Cowley shared, “We are thrilled to join the Taxfix family. Delivering exceptional service to our customers remains at the heart of what we do, and this partnership allows us to leverage Taxfix’s innovative approach and extensive resources to enhance our services in the UK and Spain.
