Morningstar has announced the appointment of Michelle Cameron as the new Commercial Leader for Sustainalytics, their dedicated ESG research and ratings division, according to a report from ESG News.
Cameron arrives with an impressive background spanning nearly two decades in the financial services industry, with a focus on sustainable finance and investments.
According to Peter Bryant, Morningstar’s Managing Director of Enterprise, Cameron’s arrival is timely. “I am pleased to have Michelle join the team at an important time for our clients as they grapple with key legislation such as the upcoming mandatory climate-related financial disclosure. Michelle’s appointment will be key as our clients transition to this new legislative regime.”
Cameron has held significant roles at major organizations like Thomson Reuters, Refinitiv, and the London Stock Exchange Group, and she was most recently the Chief Commercial Officer at Viridios AI. Her previous roles have provided her with expertise in leading sales, customer management, and service teams within the sustainable finance sectors.
In her new role at Sustainalytics, Cameron will aim to bolster the company’s market presence in Australia and New Zealand. She stated, “With its very well reputed in-depth sustainable and ESG research, I believe the business is well positioned to support the region’s reporting adoption. I look forward to collaborating with its clients and the market to develop and provide effective investment solutions that tackle climate, governance, and social challenges.“
