Skyward Specialty Insurance enhances healthcare and E&S portfolios with new appointments

Skyward Specialty Insurance, a leader in the specialty property and casualty (P&C) market, has announced key additions to its team to expand its Healthcare Solutions portfolio and broaden its Transactional Property E&S underwriting units.

Skyward Specialty Insurance, a leader in the specialty property and casualty (P&C) market, has announced key additions to its team to expand its Healthcare Solutions portfolio and broaden its Transactional Property E&S underwriting units.

Julie Miglin has been appointed as vice president, leading the expansion of the Healthcare Solutions unit, while Steven Smith joins to lead the Transactional E&S Property portfolio.

With over 15 years of underwriting experience in the Life Sciences and health technology sectors,  Miglin will spearhead the introduction of Skyward Specialty’s new Life Sciences solutions.

Previously, she worked at Chubb and Beazley, where she specialised in Life Sciences underwriting. Her appointment signifies Skyward Specialty’s commitment to enhancing its healthcare-related professional and product liability solutions.

Smith brings more than 30 years of underwriting expertise to his new role, specialising in Highly Protected Risk engineering, reinsurance, and E&S underwriting.

Before joining Skyward Specialty, Smith spent 13 years at RSUI Group, Inc., where he developed a robust property portfolio and cultivated key industry relationships.

His role at Skyward Specialty will focus on identifying innovative opportunities to meet the growing demand for E&S property solutions.

Skyward Specialty president of Professional Lines, Jim Mormile was buoyed by the news, remarking, “The addition of Life Sciences to our portfolio marks another significant milestone in our journey to a highly specialised portfolio of healthcare-related professional and product liability solutions.
