Omio, a global platform for booking trains, planes, buses, and ferries, has partnered with InsurTech leader Companjon to expand its Omio Flex offering.
This partnership allows Omio to provide customers with enhanced flexibility by integrating Companjon’s technology.
The goal of the partnership is to extend Omio Flex’s cancellation options, allowing travellers to cancel tickets for any reason up to two hours before departure and receive up to 80% of their fare.
Companjon will serve as the risk carrier, underwriter, and policy manager for this solution, ensuring smooth implementation and an elevated customer experience.
Omio, which focuses on providing a seamless travel booking experience across multiple modes of transportation, has made it easier for users to purchase flexible fares.
Customers across EEA countries can select Omio Flex at checkout or add it later via the Ticket Configurations page. If plans change, travellers can simply cancel through the “Manage Your Booking” page, and compensation is processed directly by Omio.
Companjon, established in 2020, has rapidly grown by offering modernised InsurTech solutions to various sectors, including mobility, e-commerce, and entertainment. Its technology, incorporating machine learning and AI, is utilised by businesses in over 32 countries across Europe and North America.
This partnership is expected to drive further innovation within Omio Flex, with future improvements leveraging Companjon’s technology and data insights to enhance user experiences.
