Active insurance provider Coalition, which focuses on cyber insurance and risk management, has appointed Fiona McMartin as an associate underwriter in its London office.
This appointment is part of Coalition’s ongoing expansion in the UK market, according to Insurance Business Mag.
Coalition is a cyber insurance provider that combines insurance coverage with cybersecurity tools to help businesses manage cyber risk.
Launched in the US, Coalition entered the UK cyber insurance market in 2022. Since then, the company has been growing its presence in the region, with a focus on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
McMartin began her insurance career in 2022, starting as a team leader in client services after joining RSA’s graduate programme.
She quickly moved into RSA’s cyber specialty lines team, gaining valuable experience in cyber insurance. Before joining Coalition, she held the role of assistant specialist underwriter for cyber at RSA.
In her new position at Coalition, McMartin will work closely with specialty and retail brokers, primarily those serving the SME sector, which is a key focus for Coalition as it grows in the UK market.
McMartin’s rapid progression in the insurance industry reflects her strong expertise in cyber coverage and underwriting.
Her career journey from RSA to Coalition highlights her solid background in both technical and insurance fields, making her a strategic addition to Coalition’s expanding UK team.
In addition to its ongoing team expansion, Coalition recently launched the Coalition Security Awareness Training programme. This initiative is designed to support small businesses by providing automated cybersecurity training, making it easier for IT teams to initiate and track security efforts.
The training programme addresses the critical role human error plays in cyber risk, with phishing and business email compromise (BEC) attacks being major threats.
Speaking in a post on her LinkedIn account, McMartin said, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Associate Underwriter at Coalition, Inc.!
