New Zealand-based insurer Tower has entered into a partnership with HealthCarePlus to offer its products to members of various unions, including house, contents, and motor insurance.
The reason behind this partnership is to provide exclusive insurance benefits to union members, while expanding the range of financial and wellbeing services offered through HealthCarePlus, according to InsurTech Insights.
Tower will join a group of select providers offering unique benefits such as discounted life insurance, health programmes, and other healthcare-related services.
The firm, known for its diverse range of insurance offerings, is one of New Zealand’s largest general insurers. It provides comprehensive insurance solutions that include home, motor, and contents insurance, amongst others.
By collaborating with organisations like HealthCarePlus, Tower aims to make insurance more accessible and affordable for specific communities, particularly union members in education and public service sectors.
HealthCarePlus is jointly owned by five education unions and the Public Services Association, representing over 180,000 members in New Zealand. It offers health and wellbeing services tailored to the needs of teachers, tertiary professionals, and public servants.
Through this partnership, members will now be able to access Tower’s insurance products directly via the HealthCarePlus website and member platform.
In addition to its collaboration with HealthCarePlus, Tower has secured partnerships with several other organisations, including CSC Buying Group, Coastguard New Zealand, Ray White, Kiwi Adviser Network, TSB, and Kiwibank. These collaborations extend the insurer’s reach and ensure broader access to its services.
Jonathan Beale, managing director of partnerships at Tower, said, “We are proud to partner with a like-minded Kiwi organisation to make insurance more accessible for New Zealanders. HealthCarePlus is a not-for-profit that supports unions representing some of Aotearoa’s most valuable professionals, and we feel incredibly honoured to support them.”
HealthCarePlus CEO John Seed expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “At HealthCarePlus, our goal is to improve the physical, mental, and financial wellbeing of our members and their whānau. Partnering with Tower not only enhances the benefits we offer but also strengthens our support for crucial roles in education and public services.”
