SiriusPoint, a global specialty insurer, has announced a strategic partnership with Gigasure to offer travellers more flexible, customisable travel insurance policies.

SiriusPoint, a global specialty insurer, has announced a strategic partnership with Gigasure to offer travellers more flexible, customisable travel insurance policies.

This will be achieved by leveraging Gigasure’s platform, which allows policyholders to modify their coverage according to their needs and budget, providing an alternative to standard ‘off the shelf’ policies.

This flexibility empowers travellers to adjust their insurance post-purchase through Gigasure’s app, making it easier to secure additional coverage options, such as real-time benefits for flight and baggage delays.

SiriusPoint, the underwriting partner for Gigasure’s policies, will leverage its extensive experience in the insurance market to support this venture.

As part of the agreement, claims and assistance services will be handled by IMG (International Medical Group, Inc.), a subsidiary of SiriusPoint that specialises in global insurance and assistance services.

Gigasure stands out in the travel insurance space by providing its users with access to real-time claims support through its partnership with Blink Parametric, which offers GigaShield Flight and Baggage Delay benefits.

These innovative features allow policyholders to benefit from immediate coverage for travel delays, enhancing the user experience.

SiriusPoint’s head of travel in the accident and health team, Chris Price, said, “With the ability for policyholders to customize their cover on the go, and to obtain real-time flight and baggage delay support through the use of parametric products, we believe that Gigasure has a truly unique offering.
