ACCA, the global body for professional accountants, has unveiled its Professional Diploma in Sustainability.
This innovative programme caters to finance professionals across all levels who are seeking to deepen their understanding of sustainability and earn a formal accreditation.
The impetus for the new diploma stems from the pressing demand among businesses and professional accountants for skills that extend beyond traditional financial metrics to include sustainable business practices. According to ACCA’s research, there is a critical need for capabilities that encompass both financial and non-financial business drivers.
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is renowned for providing comprehensive education and rigorous qualifications to accounting professionals worldwide. Their efforts ensure that accountants are well-equipped to meet the evolving demands of the global business landscape.
The Professional Diploma in Sustainability is structured as a comprehensive, integrated learning programme. It offers in-depth knowledge across key sustainability domains, including frameworks, strategy, management, reporting, and assurance. The diploma involves over 60 hours of learning and practice, culminating in a three-hour examination.
The diploma consists of four certificates and one exam. This structured approach ensures that learners not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also practical insights into implementing sustainable practices within their organisations.
Over recent years, ACCA has significantly expanded its focus on sustainability, incorporating relevant content into its broader qualification offerings. This new diploma builds on that foundation, marking another step forward in ACCA’s commitment to integrating sustainability into the core of financial education.
