Agrolend raises $53m in Series C to bolster agri-finance in Brazil

Agrolend, an agribusiness finance platform, has successfully raised a $53m Series C funding round.

This new infusion of capital elevates the total funding to nearly $100m, according to a report from Agfunder News.

The round was notably led by impact investor Creation Investments and Syngenta Group Ventures, with additional participation from new investors such as Vivo Ventures, L4, and Japan’s Norinchukin Bank.

Existing investors, including Valor Capital, Lightrock, Yara Growth Ventures, SP Ventures, and others, also continued their support.

Agrolend operates as a digital lending platform dedicated to transforming credit access for Brazil’s agricultural sector. It specialises in providing tailored credit solutions to industries, retailers, and cooperatives involved in agriculture.

The funds from this Series C round are earmarked for expanding Agrolend’s credit offerings. This strategic move is aimed at broadening the company’s reach and impact across various players in the agribusiness sector, including significant national and multinational entities.

In addition to the financial uplift, Agrolend is confronting significant challenges in the sector. Brazil’s smallholder farms, which constitute about 75% of the country’s farms, face historical difficulties in securing credit.
