CSRHub integrates Richmond Global Sciences data for enhanced ESG impact analysis

CSRHub, a leader in consensus ESG ratings, has announced its integration with Richmond Global Sciences data to enhance its analysis of companies’ ESG impacts.

This collaboration marks a significant step in CSRHub’s efforts to provide more nuanced insights into how companies affect the environment and society through their operations.

Unlike traditional ESG rating systems that rank companies on a curve, RGS offers a unique approach by estimating the financial impact of a company’s activities, such as greenhouse gas emissions, waste management, data breaches, and employment practices. This method helps to identify not just whether a company is good or bad, but the actual monetary impact of its actions relative to its revenue.

Initial findings from the integration revealed intriguing results: only 11% of the companies evaluated were classified as “bad actors” regarding their negative impact on society, and merely 1% fell into the “super bad” category. This suggests that while the number of companies with severely negative impacts is small, their actions could potentially have disproportionate effects.

Furthermore, the integration process has allowed CSRHub to refine its scoring system, resulting in F Scores ranging from 5 to 11 for environmental and social signals. An F Score above 2 indicates a 95% probability that two signals are related, underscoring the robustness of CSRHub’s analytical approach.

“RGS’s data has transformed how we view and evaluate company impacts,” CSRHub CEO said. “By moving away from conventional rating scales and focusing on absolute financial impacts, we can provide our clients with clearer insights into which companies are truly making a difference.”

This partnership not only enhances CSRHub’s ESG ratings but also aligns with the growing demand for transparent and actionable ESG data among investors who are increasingly focused on sustainability and ethical impacts.
