Customs Window secures €800k to enhance RegTech solutions

Customs Window Technologies, an Irish RegTech startup established in 2022, has successfully closed an €800k seed funding round.

According to EU Startups, This fresh capital will help propel the company’s strategic push into the UK market, known for its complex regulatory and customs environment.

The investment was supported by an ensemble of private investors, Enterprise Ireland’s EIIS, and the High Potential Startup (HPSU) programme. Customs Window’s founders, Brian Murphy and Johnny Dunne, have positioned their Dublin-based firm at NexusUCD to tackle the increasing challenges of customs declarations which have intensified post-Brexit and with the rise of e-commerce.

The company offers a sophisticated compliance system using advanced process automation and AI. This system simplifies customs management, enabling businesses, particularly in e-commerce and logistics, to comply with evolving customs requirements more efficiently. Their platform’s open API allows for the automation of customs declaration submissions while ensuring robust data management and compliance tracking.

Looking ahead, the newly acquired funds will be used to expand Customs Window’s customer base in the UK. “This seed round will allow us to roll out our system to new customers in the UK, a key target market for the company,” said Johnny Dunne, CEO and co-founder of Customs Window.

In addition to its core offerings, Customs Window aims to simplify customs compliance for businesses, reducing the time, costs, and stress associated with managing customs declarations. COO Brian Murphy highlighted the platform’s ability to remove the complexity of customs declarations and protect sensitive data throughout the process.

The company’s ambition extends beyond Ireland, supported by the addition of Mike Stalley, Founder and former CEO of Fiscal Reps, as an advisor. Enterprise Ireland’s Divisional Manager, Technology & Services, Anne Lanigan, praised Customs Window’s efforts, stating, “Customs Window Technologies exemplifies the impact that Irish innovation can have on global challenges. Enterprise Ireland is proud to support Customs Window as it scales internationally, and we congratulate the team on this milestone.”

Previously, the company has not disclosed any other funding rounds, focusing on establishing a strong foundation for its initial market entry and subsequent growth phases.
