Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., a leading global insurance brokerage, has officially taken over M.J. Schuetz Insurance Services, an insurance firm based in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The acquired company, Schuetz Insurance, is known for its specialised services in property/casualty, surety, and bonding, primarily serving the Midwest region.
The acquisition aims to strengthen Gallagher’s retail brokerage operations across the Midwest, leveraging Schuetz’s expertise in construction, landscaping, manufacturing, and real estate sectors. Although the financial details of the transaction were not disclosed, the strategic move is expected to enhance Gallagher’s service offerings and market presence in these key industries.
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. operates from its headquarters in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and provides a wide range of insurance brokerage, risk management, and consulting services globally. The firm has a presence in about 130 countries through its owned operations and a network of correspondent brokers and consultants.
M.J. Schuetz Insurance Services has carved a niche in the insurance industry with its focus on sectors like construction and real estate, offering tailored property/casualty, surety, and bonding solutions. This acquisition not only expands Gallagher’s geographical footprint but also enriches its expertise in these crucial areas.
Following the acquisition, the team from Schuetz Insurance, including Dave Linthicum, Mike Cocoran, Jenni Waggoner, Stella Milli, and Pamela Kreeb, will continue to operate from their current location. They will now function under the guidance of Sean Gallagher, who leads Gallagher’s Great Lakes region retail property/casualty brokerage operations.
