EcoVadis has announced the launch of a new CSRD questionnaire designed to simplify the disclosure challenges faced by global companies of all sizes.
Positioned as a frontrunner in supply chain sustainability platforms, EcoVadis offers comprehensive solutions that blend advanced technology with deep sustainability expertise.
Addressing a growing need, the CSRD questionnaire targets an estimated 50,000 companies globally that are now required to comply with stringent European regulations, irrespective of their geographic location. This includes about 10,000 U.S. companies that are either operating within the EU or catering to EU-based customers, mandating a more transparent disclosure of their operational and value chain impacts, risks, and opportunities.
EcoVadis operates on the cutting edge of risk and sustainability management, with a suite that includes the AI-powered platform IQ Plus and the streamlined Vitals questionnaire, both integrated seamlessly with EcoVadis Ratings. These tools collectively enhance the company’s ability to manage and mitigate risks across global supply chains.
The newly introduced CSRD questionnaire specifically targets the mandatory data collection required from suppliers, aligning with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). It is designed to empower procurement and compliance teams to engage suppliers effectively, consolidate relevant data, and produce audit-ready reports that uphold stringent compliance standards.
In addition to simplifying compliance, the CSRD questionnaire is offered free of charge to suppliers, thereby lowering barriers to entry and enabling a broader range of companies to participate confidently in regulatory disclosure without the burden of added costs.
Further enhancing the product’s utility, the questionnaire allows for the aggregation and analysis of extensive supply chain data. Users can easily compile comprehensive reports that are ready for audit, encompassing all significant ESRS topics by leveraging the full spectrum of EcoVadis’ solutions including Ratings, Academy, and more.
A testament to its collaborative development approach, the CSRD questionnaire and its reporting capabilities were refined in close cooperation with EcoVadis customers, ensuring it meets the real-world needs of enterprises navigating complex regulatory landscapes.
“Thousands of companies are required to report on sustainability data that include environmental factors like greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, and biodiversity impact, as well as social aspects like workforce diversity and labor standards. Those who fall behind on regulatory disclosure risk facing financial, reputational, and competitive losses to those who get it right,” EcoVadis co-founder and co-CEO Pierre-Francois Thaler said. “The CSRD questionnaire is a right-fit regulatory tool that is part of a powerful due diligence foundation for companies of any size, and at any stage in their sustainability journey, to help them keep pace with complex disclosure requirements.”
“Working with EcoVadis has put us in a good position to cover our CSRD supply chain topics,” Global Corporate Social Responsibility Lead at Kinly, Rhea Horlock, said. “As our suppliers are shaping their CSRD requirements, they know to come to us.”
