Insight Partners leads $40m funding round for FinOps leader Finout

Finout, the prominent FinOps-for-enterprise platform, announced today that it has secured a $40m Series C funding round.

The investment was led by global software investor Insight Partners, with contributions from Pitango, Team8, Red Dot Capital, and Maor Investments. This latest funding influx boosts Finout’s total capital raised to $85m.

The company specialises in providing a cloud-agnostic platform for cost allocation and governance. It caters to industry giants such as SiriusXM, Lyft, The New York Times, Choice Hotels, Wiz, Tenable, and Alchemy, reflecting the increasing mainstream adoption of FinOps practices. In a landscape where organizations grapple with complex cloud environments driven by usage-based pricing, traditional cost management methods are falling short.

Finout plans to use the new funding to further develop its platform, focusing on enhanced visibility, control, and financial planning capabilities. These features are crucial as businesses demand more sophisticated tools to manage spending across diverse cloud architectures, from multi-cloud systems to Kubernetes workloads.

Additional details from the announcement include the introduction of new enterprise-ready features. These innovations aim to refine how businesses handle their cloud expenses and financial operations, emphasizing past understanding, future preparation, and widespread FinOps adoption within companies.

Insight Partners’ Managing Director, Teddie Wardi, commented on the investment: “We’ve been closely monitoring the FinOps space for years. With cloud costs and complexity spiraling and AI investments accelerating, the need for sophisticated cloud cost management is critical. Finout’s impressive growth trajectory demonstrates they’ve become a market leader and trusted enterprise solution at exactly the right moment. The cloud cost management market represents a massive opportunity, and we believe Finout has proven they’re positioned to lead it.”
