Shawbrook Bank, a UK-based specialist bank offering tailored financial solutions, has significantly reduced its mortgage product switch time through a partnership with AND Digital, a digital transformation consultancy focused on enhancing organisational technology capabilities.
The collaboration aimed to address inefficiencies in Shawbrook’s mortgage product development process, reducing the time required for a mortgage product switch from 107 days to just 13.
Prior to the partnership, Shawbrook struggled with outdated legacy systems, slow software delivery, and traditional waterfall methodologies that hindered efficiency. To resolve these issues, AND Digital introduced a strategic plan centred on agile development, technological infrastructure upgrades, and hands-on training for Shawbrook’s teams.
A fully integrated mortgage switch system was developed using Microsoft Azure and React, incorporating automated valuations, credit checks, and financial decision-making tools to enable seamless processing.
In addition to modernising Shawbrook’s mortgage processing, AND Digital provided in-depth training to strengthen the bank’s internal technical capabilities. This helped to reduce reliance on external developers and lower ongoing development costs. The implementation of new deployment processes further accelerated efficiencies, cutting deployment times from 12 hours to just two hours, while streamlining the broker application journey from 40 minutes to just eight minutes.
