Fana Sparebank selects Tietoevry Banking for five-year digital transformation deal

Fana Sparebank has entered into a five-year strategic partnership with Tietoevry Banking, aimed at transforming its banking operations through a modern, integrated technology platform.

The deal, which begins on 1 April 2025, will see the Norwegian bank adopting a full suite of solutions including core banking systems, payments and card services, and advanced financial crime prevention tools.

The collaboration is designed to enhance Fana Sparebank’s digital capabilities, particularly across mobile and self-service channels. This includes expanded functionality for self-service loan management and a more user-friendly digital interface to better meet customer needs.

Tietoevry Banking will provide a fully modernised core banking system that meets regulatory and security requirements in Norway, while supporting high levels of operational reliability. As part of the deal, the two organisations will also collaborate closely on developing transaction and behavioural analytics capabilities powered by artificial intelligence. These innovations are expected to deliver deeper insights and more personalised customer experiences.

Fana Sparebank CEO Lisbet K. Nærø said, “Fana Sparebank is committed to being a proactive bank with strong customer proximity. In a market where expectations for 24/7 digital access are growing – alongside the need for real human interaction when it matters most – we depend on robust, user-friendly tools. This partnership gives us access to a future-ready core banking platform and solutions that strengthen our digital interface, while increased flexibility allows our skilled employees to focus on what matters most.”

Tietoevry Banking CEO Endre Rangnes said, “Being selected by Fana Sparebank for such a long-term technology partnership is a significant vote of confidence. It reflects how our modular, end-to-end platform meets the evolving needs of banks focused on usability, innovation, and secure delivery. Together, we will focus on innovation and technology leadership to bring new self-service solutions to market – fast.”

The transition to Tietoevry’s updated core banking system is expected to improve flexibility and prepare Fana Sparebank for future technology shifts. The implementation will also allow the bank to better manage costs while continuing to play a central role in the financial wellbeing of its community.

Fana Sparebank director of innovation and technology Inge Ådland said, “This technology partnership addresses our need for new functionality with user experience at the center. At the same time, it ensures cost-effective operations, allowing us to remain a positive force for growth and development in the lives of our customers.”
