Primer, a unified infrastructure provider for global payments and commerce, has announced the integration of J.P. Morgan Payments into its platform.
This integration makes Primer a member of the J.P. Morgan Payments Partner Network, expanding payment options for merchants worldwide.
The partnership enables Primer’s merchant clients to effortlessly integrate J.P. Morgan Payments’ global Commerce Platform into their payment stack.
This collaboration aims to improve authorisation rates and enhance global payment capabilities, supporting businesses in reaching a wider market.
Primer provides merchants with a seamless solution to accept, optimise, and manage payments through a single platform. By consolidating payment stacks, businesses can streamline operations and unlock growth opportunities.
The platform allows merchants to build, customize, and test different payment setups, such as adding local payment methods in new regions or optimizing payment routing to improve approval rates.
J.P. Morgan Payments, a division of J.P. Morgan, offers global end-to-end payment solutions. By integrating its Commerce Platform with Primer, the financial giant strengthens its ability to serve businesses looking for advanced payment orchestration.
The partnership also expands J.P. Morgan Payments’ reach, as merchants using Primer can now access its services with ease.
GetYourGuide, a global travel booking platform and a client of Primer since March 2024, is the first merchant to integrate J.P. Morgan Payments via Primer.
The company aims to better serve its US customer base by leveraging J.P. Morgan Payments as one of its payment service providers.
“As a global business, localised payments performance is critical for us,” said Arjun Muralidharan, director of product at GetYourGuide. “And as our US customer base grows, we wanted to add a provider that our customers were already using as their issuing bank. J.P. Morgan Payments has invested heavily in their technology over the last few years, and it means their value proposition for merchants and travellers is fantastic.”
J.P. Morgan Payments acknowledges the importance of payment orchestration and its strategic value for merchants.
By joining the J.P. Morgan Payments Partner Network, Primer expands its reach, offering merchants access to the world’s largest merchant acquirer.
Jason Tiede, global head, corporate development and partnerships at J.P. Morgan Payments, said, “By integrating with Primer, part of our growing global Partner Network, even more merchants can benefit from payment acceptance while leveraging our global processing capabilities. We are committed to providing merchants with payments solutions that accelerate their growth by enhancing end-consumer experience and choice.”
The J.P. Morgan Payments Partner Network consists of over 80 member companies, bringing together J.P. Morgan Payments’ suite of payment solutions and third-party relationships. This network helps clients build, implement, expand, and optimise their payment strategies.
Gabriel Le Roux, CEO of Primer, said, “By integrating J.P. Morgan Payments with Primer, we’re giving merchants a powerful service provider in their payment toolkit, one that can drive growth and deepen customer trust. Our open infrastructure connects merchants and partners, creating a seamless, merchant-first ecosystem. This has allowed GetYourGuide to expand, de-risk and broaden its global coverage seamlessly.”
Primer merchants looking to use J.P. Morgan Payments as a payment service provider will have access to various payment methods, including cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. The integration supports Primer’s mission to unify the payments ecosystem, giving merchants the flexibility to build, scale, and optimise their payment strategies.
