Unipaas has formed a strategic partnership with Mastercard to enhance card acceptance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) using vertical SaaS platforms, particularly in industries where payment processes are still manual and offline.

The collaboration is designed to address the long-standing challenges faced by SMEs in industries like health services, education, and field services, where card payments have been underutilised, according to FF News.

By combining Unipaas’ embedded payment infrastructure with Mastercard’s global payment network, the partnership seeks to streamline transactions, improve card acceptance rates, and drive the digital transformation of payments for SMEs.

Unipaas offers a comprehensive, fully embedded payment infrastructure that simplifies the payment process for SaaS platforms.

Its solution enables software providers to offer card-based payments integrated directly into their platforms. The infrastructure supports major payment methods, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, direct debits, and instant bank transfers.

Unipaas also manages regulatory, compliance, and operational tasks such as onboarding, anti-money laundering (AML), and know your customer (KYC/KYB) procedures.

Mastercard, a global payments technology company, provides a robust payment network that enables businesses to accept card payments worldwide.

With advanced fraud protection and global reach, Mastercard’s network is essential for facilitating seamless, secure, and efficient payment processing across various industries, including those served by vertical SaaS platforms.

The partnership specifically targets industries such as health services, education, field services, and professional training, where digital payments are still not widely adopted despite increasing SaaS usage among SMEs.

The goal is to provide these SMEs with more convenient, secure, and user-friendly payment options, replacing outdated manual methods like invoicing and bank transfers.

By embedding Mastercard’s payment capabilities into SaaS platforms, Unipaas and Mastercard aim to reduce operational complexity, improve acceptance rates, and enhance overall user experiences.

The collaboration is seen as a key milestone in Unipaas’ mission to drive digital transformation in SaaS payments.

By leveraging Mastercard’s global network and advanced fraud protection, Unipaas is helping software providers unlock new revenue streams and provide better payment solutions to their customers.

David Avgi, Founder and CEO, Unipaas, said: “Many SMEs using vertical SaaS platforms today still rely on manual, offline payment methods—causing inefficiencies, poor user experiences, and lost revenue opportunities. Our partnership with Mastercard is about changing that. Together, we’re unlocking the potential of card payments in industries where digitisation has been slow, giving software providers the power to offer fast, secure, and scalable embedded payments tailored to their customers’ needs.”

George Simon, Executive Vice President, Market Development at Mastercard, added: “This collaboration with Unipaas underscores our commitment to providing seamless, secure, and optimised payments for businesses. By leveraging our extensive global network and advanced fraud protection, we are enabling SMEs using SaaS platforms to enhance their payment experiences, improve acceptance rates, and unlock new opportunities. Together with Unipaas, we are empowering SMEs using software providers to scale their operations and drive business growth with confidence.”
