Tietoevry Industry, a business unit within Tietoevry, is undertaking major operational changes as it looks to strengthen financial performance and reinforce its strategic push into scalable, AI-powered software solutions.
The company, which develops data-driven software products tailored to niche and specialised segments across both public and private sectors, has been grappling with falling revenue and narrowing profit margins over the past year. In response, it has announced a round of efficiency measures that will result in the reduction of approximately 130 positions across its product units and several of its operating countries.
The job cuts form part of a broader plan to realign Tietoevry Industry’s cost structure and operations with current market conditions. At the same time, the move is designed to allow the business to reinvest in emerging technologies and maintain competitiveness in an increasingly AI-dominated software landscape. These changes are expected to be implemented in full by the end of Q2 2025, with all processes conducted in accordance with local laws and employment practices.
Tietoevry Industry managing director Carsten Henke acknowledged the impact on staff, but stressed the long-term rationale. “Our software products have significant growth potential and are well positioned in many markets. However, although the efficiency measures impacting our people are highly regrettable, they are also necessary for a healthier financial foundation and to support Industry’s ambition of becoming a strong portfolio of high-performance, AI-enabled, and scalable software products. We are committed to supporting affected employees during this transition.”
Tietoevry Industry currently employs around 1,600 people.
