Worldpay, a leading global payment technology provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Yabie, a Swedish point-of-sale (POS) technology firm known for its intuitive merchant solutions.
The collaboration aims to empower small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in the UK with enhanced business management and payment capabilities.
The partnership centres around Worldpay’s new solution, Worldpay 360, designed to provide streamlined, user-friendly business tools to independent businesses.
By integrating Yabie’s software into the Worldpay 360 platform, the firms aim to elevate customer experiences and improve operational efficiency for UK SMBs across retail, hospitality, and service sectors.
Worldpay brings extensive expertise in payment processing and business management solutions. The firm serves merchants globally, offering secure and innovative payment technology.
Through Worldpay 360, it provides comprehensive tools to help SMBs manage transactions, customer engagement, and business performance.
Yabie, headquartered in Sweden, specialises in developing POS software tailored to the needs of businesses ranging from local independent shops to major retailers across the Nordic region.
With this collaboration, Yabie marks its official entry into the UK market, positioning itself for further European expansion. The partnership gives UK businesses access to Yabie’s easy-to-use POS technology, bundled with Worldpay’s hardware and payments infrastructure.
The solution is available in three tailored packages — Lite, Standard and Pro — offering flexibility and scalability depending on the size and needs of each business. The joint offering addresses a critical gap in digital tools for SMBs, especially when compared to the advanced digital experiences provided by large retailers.
The move comes amid increasing concern that SMBs are falling behind in digital capabilities. A report from PYMNTS Intelligence highlighted that SMBs are 45% less likely to provide seamless cross-channel shopping experiences than large merchants.
On average, SMBs offer eight fewer digital features compared to their larger counterparts, despite rising consumer expectations for consistent shopping experiences across channels.
The PYMNTS research also showed that mobile usage continues to grow in importance. Nearly a third of consumers browse on their phones daily or almost daily, and over 23% use mobile phones to assist with in-store shopping. These behaviours underline the growing demand for mobile-compatible POS solutions that support omnichannel engagement.
Worldpay and Yabie said, “The UK collaboration will help deliver streamlined, user-friendly solutions to independent businesses looking for a payments system that can enhance customer experiences and empower their business.”
Yabie CEO Siri Hyltén-Cavallius said, “The UK market represents the perfect launchpad for our European growth strategy. Through this partnership with Worldpay, we’re bringing our user-friendly approach to POS technology to the UK. Partnering with established payment leaders like Worldpay allows us to bring new levels of simplicity to SMBs, empowering them to thrive with new, powerful tools to manage their business.”
