Oxford and AICPA & CIMA launch ESG reporting course

Oxford

Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, a globally recognised institution known for its leadership in executive education, has partnered with AICPA & CIMA, two leading professional accounting organisations, to launch a new executive-level programme on sustainability reporting and ESG data management.

According to ESG Today, the launch of this programme responds to growing global demand for transparent, standardised sustainability disclosures. As companies transition from voluntary ESG reporting to mandatory compliance regimes, there is a pressing need for financial leaders to upskill and adapt.

Oxford’s Saïd Business School delivers world-class executive education, while AICPA & CIMA represent the unified voice of accounting professionals worldwide. Together, they aim to equip finance teams with the tools to navigate evolving sustainability expectations and regulations.

The newly launched Sustainability Reporting and ESG Data Management Programme is an eight-week course designed for senior finance professionals, including consultants, auditors, and risk managers. It focuses on enabling participants to design, implement, and refine sustainability reporting strategies, and to understand key frameworks such as TCFD, ISSB, and ESRS, which underpin the EU’s CSRD regulation.

The course explores how ESG data can be embedded into corporate decision-making, how technology can be used to drive sustainability performance, and how companies can develop governance systems to support long-term value creation. It also offers insights into preparing for external sustainability assurance.

Participants will benefit from a rich mix of learning formats, including webinars, multimedia content, and optional weekly tutor-led group sessions. Upon completion, they will receive a certificate co-signed by Saïd Business School and AICPA & CIMA.

Oxford Saïd associate professor of accounting Amir Amel-Zadeh said, “Finance leaders sit at the intersection of strategy, compliance, and value creation. Fluency in sustainability reporting and ESG data management is therefore key. This program equips finance professionals not only with the technical knowledge to meet evolving standards but also with the strategic insight to embed sustainability into the core of decision-making by translating ESG data into actionable insights.”

AICPA & CIMA global head of ESG matters Jeremy Osborn said, “Accounting and finance professionals who complete this program will have the necessary tools to lead their organizations in sustainability reporting, employ best practices in meeting compliance with evolving regulations, and will have a better ability to anticipate trends in this rapidly maturing area.”
