Nasdaq, a global technology company and operator of multiple stock exchanges, has introduced the Nasdaq Carbon Academy, a new online educational platform, developed in partnership with AirMiners, a leader in carbon removal innovation, acceleration, and networking.
The launch of this new academy reflects the growing demand for accessible and comprehensive education on carbon dioxide removal (CDR) as organisations increasingly seek to integrate carbon credits into their emissions strategies.
Nasdaq operates as a major provider of trading, technology, data, and analytics solutions across capital markets worldwide, while AirMiners serves as a community and accelerator focused on advancing carbon removal technologies and market participation.
The Nasdaq Carbon Academy offers a self-paced, on-demand course designed to provide participants with a complete understanding of the carbon removal market. Covering content from basic principles to advanced topics, the course aims to equip individuals with the knowledge needed to build and manage carbon removal credit portfolios and support corporate sustainability objectives.
The programme features five interactive modules: Introduction to Carbon Dioxide Removal, Core Carbon Dioxide Removal Concepts, Carbon Dioxide Removal Methodologies, Quality, Value, and Aligning Incentives, and Budgeting, Portfolios, and Contracting. These modules deliver a structured and accessible learning experience for professionals at any stage of their carbon markets journey.
The academy builds on AirMiners’ previous Buyers Academy pilot and expands its educational mission through a broader online platform available via Nasdaq’s website. The course is open to all participants, allowing wide access to critical carbon removal knowledge.
Nasdaq head of European product strategy and management and chairman of Puro.earth Fredrik Ekström said, “I am excited to announce that the fruitful collaboration between Nasdaq and AirMiners has resulted in the creation of an insightful educational tool tailored for those interested in the carbon dioxide removal market. With the launch of this platform, we aim to enhance awareness and education surrounding carbon markets. Nasdaq Carbon Academy provides comprehensive information, from basic to advanced levels, in an accessible and user-friendly format.”
AirMiners CEO Tito Jankowski said, “We built this academy so sustainability leaders can go from curious to confident in carbon dioxide removal. I’m excited for the Carbon Academy to support the next wave of sustainability leaders and their teams to take action on their sustainability goals.”
