Meridian raises $7m to bring AI to private equity deals

Meridian, an AI-driven deal management platform for private market investors, has raised $7m in a Series Seed funding round.

The round was led by 645 Ventures, with participation from existing backer Chaac Ventures and a group of influential angel investors. These include professionals from private equity, credit, and M&A law who have supported Meridian as early adopters of the platform.

Founded by Alexander Sen, a former investor at Blackstone, Thoma Bravo, and CVC, Meridian is positioning itself as the AI operating system for private equity and related markets. Its platform merges modern CRM capabilities with deep workflow automation and proprietary AI agents to streamline deal management from origination through to exit.

With the new funding, Meridian plans to expand its AI capabilities, accelerate product development, and scale its go-to-market operations globally. The firm aims to equip investment teams with intelligent tools that enable faster, leaner operations and more informed decision-making.

The core of Meridian’s platform is Scout, its proprietary AI engine. Scout powers a suite of agents that automate key tasks like market mapping, company identification, and diligence workflows. These capabilities allow investment firms to identify high-potential deals ahead of the competition, giving them a significant edge in sourcing and evaluation.

Operating with a team of over 25 staff across New York and Miami, Meridian brings together talent from enterprise software, AI infrastructure, and capital markets. The company has also assembled a seasoned customer team to support clients navigating digital transformation across the private investment lifecycle.

Meridian founder and CEO Alexander Sen said, “Private equity still runs on fragmented, manual systems: clunky software, Excel trackers, and scattered third-party data subscriptions. We’re building software that finally reflects how top investment teams source and diligence deals – and we’ve vertically integrated AI to enable workflows that were never possible before.”

645 Ventures managing partner Nnamdi Okike said, “There’s a generational shift happening in private markets – more complexity, more competition, and more data. AI is a game changer for private market deal sourcing, due diligence and deal management. Firms that do not leverage AI in this new market will be left behind. We were particularly drawn to Alex’s insights into how AI will transform private markets, which were developed through his experience in private equity. Meridian is arming investors with the system they’ll need to win.”
