Dext and Airwallex launch seamless payment automation

Dext has partnered with Airwallex to launch Dext Payments, a new embedded payments solution that will allow users to manage payments directly within the Dext platform.

The tool is scheduled to roll out in Q3 2025, offering a seamless experience from invoice upload through to payment while enhancing financial automation for small businesses and their accounting partners.

By integrating Airwallex’s payments infrastructure into Dext’s automation platform, the solution will allow businesses to manage supplier payments, expenses and payroll within a single workflow while making it easier for customers to pay invoices. Dext Payments will also include supplier and payment detail verification using Dext’s existing data, ensuring payments are completed correctly and securely.

Dext CEO Sabby Gill said, “Airwallex stood out as the ideal partner to power Dext Payments. Its global presence allows us to support customers in every region we operate in, and Airwallex’s secure, developer-friendly platform integrates seamlessly with the Dext platform. With competitive FX rates, multi-currency wallets, and a strong focus on compliance, Airwallex gives us the confidence to bring this product to market at scale.

“With our focus on making bookkeeping effortless, Dext Payments makes complete sense. It brings everything into one place, eliminating friction and giving our customers clarity, control and confidence over how they pay and get paid.”

The new payments capability will allow accountants and bookkeepers to expand their services by offering payment solutions to clients, with direct access to client wallet balances within Dext for quick review and approval. The platform also incorporates automated reconciliation and fraud detection.

For small businesses, the tool will enable supplier and employee payments, multi-currency wallet management with competitive FX rates, and faster payment collection by adding payment links to invoices. Businesses will also be able to receive payments using local bank details in 12 countries and over 20 currencies.

Airwallex chief revenue officer Kai Wu said, “We’re excited to partner with Dext, a company that shares our passion for modernising financial operations.

“Dext’s strong customer base, deep domain expertise, and focus on automation make them the perfect partner to take our financial infrastructure to market in a way that drives real customer impact.”
