Firenze expands with Söderberg partnership in UK

Firenze has partnered with Söderberg & Partners Wealth Management, marking a new phase in broadening access to Lombard lending within the UK’s wealth management sector.

Traditionally the preserve of private banks, Lombard lending allows clients to borrow against the value of their investment portfolios without selling assets, disrupting plans, or triggering capital gains. Firenze, operating within its proprietary, secure and regulated WealthTech platform, is bringing this lending method to a wider pool of mass-affluent investors, offering fast, flexible and tech-enabled lending for advisers and clients. The company is targeting over £1bn in lending over the next three years.

Loans start from £65,000 and are secured against clients’ portfolios, providing liquidity for other investments at lower interest rates compared with unsecured borrowing. With highly liquid collateral, lending decisions can be made within hours rather than weeks.

With the integration of Firenze, Söderberg and Partners advisers will gain tools to improve portfolio performance and client outcomes by keeping clients invested while accessing liquidity, enabling faster investment execution, and offering innovative cash flow solutions that preserve market exposure. This also gives advisers an edge in competing with private banks while retaining ongoing fee revenue.

Söderberg and Partners Wealth Management, the UK arm of the Swedish wealth manager, has been expanding its presence across the UK by investing in IFAs and delivering innovative client propositions.

Firenze CEO David Newman said, “Soderberg & Partners are one of the most exciting players in the UK wealth management market today and it is a real pleasure to partner with Nick and his team. They have a really innovative platform, have acquired some incredible firms and it’s great for their advisors & clients to now be able to benefit from Lombard lending.”

Söderberg and Partners Wealth Management CEO Nick Raine said, “We’re delighted to partner with Firenze. Being able to offer Lombard lending provides our advisers with another tool in their arsenal and a distinct advantage, strengthening their broader proposition, offering forward-thinking, new ways to invest and engage clients, as well as growing AUM and competing with the private banks.”
