Avarda, a Scandinavian FinTech specialising in white label payment solutions for e-commerce, has partnered with Ratepay, a German-based payment provider known for secure invoice and direct debit services, to strengthen buy now, pay later (BNPL) offerings across Europe.

The strategic alliance aims to expand flexible, secure payment methods tailored to regional preferences, particularly in the DACH and Dutch markets, according to FF News.

By combining their local expertise, the companies are set to offer merchants a broader reach with a single integration, while also meeting fragmented consumer demands across Europe.

Avarda provides brand-friendly, white label BNPL and checkout solutions, allowing merchants to retain full ownership of customer relationships, brand identity, and data. The company’s solutions prioritise localised user experience while enabling seamless online transactions.

Ratepay, meanwhile, is a leading provider of white label invoice and direct debit payment services, widely used in German-speaking markets. The company focuses on secure, local payment solutions that integrate directly into merchants’ online checkouts, maintaining brand visibility and control for retailers.

The partnership will see Ratepay’s trusted payment methods integrated into the Avarda Checkout, significantly boosting its capabilities in the DACH region. This includes support for invoice and direct debit—payment methods preferred by a substantial share of local online shoppers. For example, one in four German consumers favours invoice payments.

Together, the two companies aim to simplify cross-border commerce by offering localised payment options through a unified platform. The partnership will help merchants reduce complexity while boosting conversion rates with familiar and trusted local payment methods.

In a statement, Ratepay CEO Sabrina Flunkert-Glinzer said, “Avarda shares our commitment to providing seamless, secure, and localised white label payment methods that empower merchants and enhance customer experience. We are pleased to support Avarda’s expansion into the DACH and Dutch markets by enhancing their checkout product with our invoice and direct debit expertise.”

Avarda CEO Wilhelm Hyltén-Cavallius added, “This partnership with Ratepay marks a pivotal step in our mission to support merchants with brand-friendly, white label payment solutions across Europe. Together, we’re building a future where the merchant stays front and centre—owning the customer relationship, the data, and the brand experience.”
