FinTech firm Qlub secures $30m for global dining expansion

Qlub, a FinTech company transforming the restaurant experience with contactless payment technology, has secured $30m to support its global growth ambitions.

The funding round was co-led by Shorooq Partners and Cherry Ventures, with strategic backing from e&, Mubadala Investments and Legend Capital, according to a report from Zawya.

The investment marks a significant step in Qlub’s mission to expand internationally and strengthen its presence in existing markets.

Founded in 2021, Qlub enables diners to scan QR codes to access menus, place orders and pay instantly using their smartphones. By eliminating traditional payment steps and physical menus, the platform streamlines the dining process for both customers and hospitality operators.

The newly raised capital will be used to accelerate Qlub’s expansion into new territories and enhance its analytics and product features. The company also plans to deepen its integration within the hospitality ecosystem through strategic partnerships and improved data capabilities that help restaurants understand guest behaviour.

Qlub already operates in over 3,000 venues across key markets including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Brazil, Qatar, Kuwait and South Korea. It now processes billions of dollars annually and serves millions of diners each month.

Clients such as Wagamama, Paul Cafe, Sushi Samba and La Petite Maison have reported significant improvements after implementing Qlub’s system, including a 300% rise in tipping, an 80% reduction in checkout lines and a sevenfold increase in positive reviews.

Cherry Ventures founding partner Filip Dames said, “From day one, Qlub has shown how technology can simplify and modernise hospitality. We backed them at seed and are thrilled to support them again as they scale their solution globally and change how restaurants operate. We look forward to supporting their continued success.”

Qlub co-founder and co-CEO Eyad Alkassar said, “Our vision is simple: Qlub makes paying at restaurants ten times faster — and that elevates the entire dining experience. Why would any restaurant, anywhere in the world, choose to operate without it?”
