AdvanceCare, a leading health insurance third-party administrator (TPA) in Portugal with 1.7 million members, has significantly improved claims processing times by deepening its partnership with UK-based InsurTech Sprout.ai.
Leveraging Sprout.ai’s AI-powered claims automation platform, AdvanceCare can now process some claims in as little as 60 seconds, according to FF News.
The integration of Sprout.ai’s patented technology has increased automation levels by over 10%, building on AdvanceCare’s existing digital infrastructure.
The AI platform uses advanced algorithms and optical character recognition (OCR) to extract and analyse claims data instantly, enabling faster and more accurate decisions across hospital, dental, and pharmacy claims.
This comes as healthcare providers report increasing delays in claims reimbursements, with 62% citing it as a growing challenge, up from 51% in 2022. The improved speed and accuracy are also helping AdvanceCare reduce manual workloads, allowing claims handlers to focus on more complex cases.
