Emburse has unveiled a major update to its Enterprise mobile app, combining travel itinerary management and expense reporting into a single, intelligent workflow.
This development is part of Emburse’s wider vision of delivering “Expense Intelligence”, using AI to orchestrate and optimise business spending at every step.
With the new functionality, business travellers can now book, manage, and expense their trips entirely within one mobile platform. This eliminates the need for separate tools or apps, streamlining the experience for both travelling employees and finance teams tasked with overseeing spend.
Emburse chief product officer Paul Nagy said, “This is travel simplicity at its best. By unifying travel itinerary information and expenses in one app, we’re making life simpler for business travelers and giving finance teams the real-time visibility they need for predictive spend orchestration within their organization.”
The update provides business travellers with an integrated view of their journeys, including check-in times, confirmation details, and expense-related actions aligned with company policy. Users can manage tasks in real time—such as uploading a receipt or logging a hotel charge—on the go, improving accuracy and compliance.
General Mills global travel & expense manager Rex Heineman praised the app’s simplicity, saying, “Emburse makes travel simple, seamless, and not time-consuming so our employees can focus on their main job – manufacturing, selling, and marketing our products.”
From a finance perspective, the real-time data generated by the app opens up greater control. By capturing expense activity at the point of transaction, organisations can spot potential policy breaches, track trends, and take proactive measures before overspending occurs.
Nagy added, “Millions of dollars are spent during business travel, but lack of real-time action and visibility leads to expense inaccuracies and spend leakage. This launch is more than an enhanced feature—it’s part of an intelligent infrastructure that helps finance teams see, guide, and impact travel spend before it even happens.”
Further updates to the Emburse Enterprise suite are planned in the coming months, including integrations with Emburse Book, Emburse Go, and Emburse Reshop. The itinerary management feature will be available globally from 1 August 2025.
