Vanta, an AI-powered trust management platform that helps businesses automate and scale compliance, has raised $150m in a Series D funding round.

The round was led by Wellington Management, with participation from existing backers Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Sequoia, J.P. Morgan, Craft Ventures, Y Combinator, Atlassian Ventures, and CrowdStrike Ventures. This latest investment brings Vanta’s total funding to $504m since its launch in 2021 and values the company at $4.15bn.

Founded in 2018, Vanta initially focused on helping start-ups automate SOC 2 compliance, offering a quicker route to market and revenue. Today, it has evolved into a comprehensive trust management platform that enables over 12,000 companies across 58 countries to continuously monitor risk, prove trust, and streamline governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) efforts.

The new capital will support Vanta’s push into new use cases, including third-party risk management and government compliance frameworks. It will also fund further development of its AI capabilities, including tools that automate evidence collection, surface inconsistencies, and streamline questionnaire responses—ultimately saving teams hours of manual work each week.

Recent innovations include the Vanta AI Agent, which guides users through complex workflows and automates key tasks, and Questionnaire Automation, which drafts over 80% of responses to security questionnaires with a 95% acceptance rate. According to IDC, Vanta users have seen a 526% ROI over three years, with compliance teams reporting significant increases in productivity.

The platform has also expanded its feature set to include tools such as zero-touch verification, vendor risk management, access reviews, and real-time Trust Centers. Vanta’s vision is to shift from point-in-time security reviews to continuous, AI-driven trust verification.

Notable clients include Icelandair, Intercom, Mistral AI, Omni Hotels, and the Salvation Army Australia. Organisations like Duolingo, Snowflake, Ramp, Atlassian, and WRITER are already leveraging Vanta to save time and reduce costs across their compliance functions.

Vanta CEO Christina Cacioppo said, “We started Vanta with a simple belief: if we made it easier to share trust between businesses, all companies could grow faster and more securely. Today, we’re helping businesses earn and prove trust—enabling over 12,000 companies to scale security and GRC the way they scale software. With this new funding, we’ll accelerate Vanta’s AI innovation and expansion into new areas like third-party risk and government compliance—solving more of the real, day-to-day challenges our customers face.”

Wellington Management head of late-stage growth Matt Witheiler said, “We’re excited to lead Vanta’s latest round of funding and support them as they transform how companies build and prove trust. Vanta’s AI-driven platform is moving beyond the standard for security and compliance—with real-time, continuous verification that’s essential for every industry in today’s business environment. Christina and Vanta have created something truly special and we look forward to seeing their impact grow as they expand into new markets and push the boundaries of what’s possible for trust management in the age of AI.”
