Navan, a leading all-in-one business travel and expense management platform, has announced a new integration with American Express to enable its U.S. Business and Corporate Card Members to generate unique virtual Cards instantly for travel bookings made through the Navan platform.

This collaboration aims to enhance travel and expense (T&E) management for businesses by improving automation, security, and real-time visibility of spending, according to FF News.

The integration is designed to offer streamlined reconciliation and budgeting, as well as a more efficient user experience, by linking American Express’s virtual Cards with Navan’s expense management tools.

Navan provides an end-to-end solution for corporate travel and expense (T&E) management. Through its platform, companies can manage bookings, automate expenses, and enforce spending policies. Navan Connect, the firm’s card-link technology, supports “Bring Your Own Card” functionality, allowing businesses to retain existing card partnerships while enjoying Navan’s user experience and capabilities. Since January 2024, this card-link functionality has processed over $1bn in transaction volume.

American Express, commonly known as Amex, is one of the most recognised financial service brands globally. It offers a wide range of products including credit cards, corporate cards, and other financial services. Its virtual card capabilities add a layer of control, security, and efficiency for corporate clients managing employee spending.

The integration, supported under the American Express Sync Commercial Partner Program, allows Card Members to instantly issue virtual Cards for travel payments. These virtual Cards come with built-in spending policies and automated reconciliation, offering finance teams greater visibility and control over budgets. Additionally, Card Members can continue to earn rewards on their eligible American Express Cards while using virtual options.

Navan Connect’s flexibility means businesses can enjoy the user experience of the Navan platform without sacrificing the benefits of their preferred financial institutions. The partnership with American Express enhances the platform’s ability to provide streamlined, real-time expense tracking and improved financial governance.

Navan president Michael Sindicich said, “We’re thrilled to join forces with American Express to give our customers access to the control, enhanced security, and cash flow management that come with using an American Express virtual Card. Navan and American Express are both obsessed with delivering amazing user experiences that optimize efficiency and savings. The integration helps us provide our signature end-to-end experience and increased value to our customers that use American Express for their Card needs.”
