Klarna, the global digital bank and flexible payments provider, is set to make its services more accessible to US shoppers through a new integration with Google Chrome’s autofill feature.
The update will enable eligible Chrome users to select Klarna directly at checkout without leaving their browser, according to FF News.
The integration responds to growing consumer expectations for faster, more flexible, and more secure online payment experiences.
By embedding Klarna into Chrome autofill, the company aims to streamline the checkout process and give customers greater payment choice.
Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Stockholm, Klarna offers a range of payment solutions including buy now, pay later (BNPL) options, financing plans, and interest-free instalments. The company also provides shopping and financial management tools, serving over 150m active users and partnering with hundreds of thousands of merchants globally.
From later this year, eligible US Chrome users will see Klarna’s interest-free Pay in 4 option appear within autofill for purchases over $35.
Financing for higher-ticket items will also be available, offering monthly repayments over extended periods with rates starting at 0% APR.
Chrome’s autofill stores and automatically inputs payment details at checkout, reducing typing and minimising errors. With Klarna integrated into this feature, users can access flexible payment options instantly, without extra steps or app downloads.
The move marks another milestone in Klarna’s strategy to deliver seamless embedded payments. It positions Klarna at the browser level, aiming to offer a smarter, more transparent shopping experience right at the user’s fingertips.
Klarna chief commercial officer David Sykes said, “We know consumers expect more flexibility, speed, and security in how they pay online. Our integration with autofill on Chrome is about evolving to meet those needs—bringing flexible payments that are both seamless and secure, embedded directly in the browser. It’s another step toward creating a checkout experience designed for the way people shop today.”
