Prommt, a premium remote payment platform, and Payit™ by NatWest, an award-winning open banking solution from the UK bank, have entered into a strategic partnership to transform how businesses collect payments.
The collaboration aims to give merchants and corporate clients a faster, more secure, and cost-effective alternative to manual bank transfers, whether customers pay by card or directly from their bank, according to FF News.
The integrated solution is designed to be merchant-branded, intuitive, and optimised for high conversion rates.
Prommt provides a smart payment orchestration platform enabling merchants to set transaction rules and dynamically offer Payit™ (Pay by Bank) or Tyl by NatWest (card payment) based on transaction value. Payit™, from NatWest, facilitates instant, secure bank-to-bank payments without requiring sort codes, account numbers, or card details, removing card scheme and interchange fees — a particular benefit for high-value transactions.
Prommt’s platform offers features such as a branded web portal for sending payment requests via SMS, email, or link, with options for scheduled send, group send, recurring payments, and autocharge. It is also accessible through an API for integration with web checkouts, mobile apps, and ERP systems. Payit™ ensures immediate confirmation of funds, with Prommt delivering real-time notifications and attaching payment reference data for easier reconciliation and faster fulfilment.
The partnership has already been deployed by a leading UK automotive dealership group with 22 locations, enabling immediate payment confirmation and a “drive away today” service for customers. This has improved operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and fraud prevention.
According to Prommt CCO Adam Ball, “Open banking is transforming payments in the UK, and this partnership with Payit™ by NatWest delivers significant business impact. This combined solution gives businesses control, visibility, and flexibility over their payment flows — while making it effortless for customers to pay.”
James Hodgson, CEO of Payit™ by NatWest, said, “Our partnership with Prommt combines the strength of open banking with Prommt’s platform to give merchants more control, more efficiency, and a better customer experience. It’s a powerful solution for businesses looking to modernise their payment journeys.”
