Affirm, a payment network that enables consumers to pay over time while helping merchants drive growth, and Google Pay, a digital wallet platform by Google facilitating secure and convenient transactions, have expanded their collaboration to integrate Affirm’s flexible payment options with Chrome’s autofill feature.

The partnership aims to make Affirm’s transparent pay-over-time solutions more accessible and seamless for eligible shoppers, enabling them to use flexible payment plans quickly at more places online without additional merchant integration, according to FF News.

Affirm offers consumers the ability to split purchases into personalised biweekly or monthly instalments, with no late or hidden fees.

Its platform covers transactions from $35 to $30,000, with plans ranging from four biweekly payments to monthly options of up to 24 months. Interest rates start at 0% APR, subject to eligibility checks.

Google Pay provides users with a secure and streamlined digital payment method available across Chrome and Android. It allows consumers to store payment methods and make purchases easily across millions of sites and apps.

The autofill function in Chrome enables quicker checkout by pre-populating payment details, now with the added option of selecting “Pay over time” with Affirm.

Under the new integration, U.S. shoppers using the Chrome desktop browser can access Affirm by choosing “Pay over time options” from the autofill dropdown menu. Approved customers can then select a repayment plan that suits them best. This feature also allows linking Affirm accounts to Google Pay for even faster future transactions.

The expanded functionality will be automatically activated for participating merchants, removing the need for any technical setup on their part. New and existing Affirm users can start using this payment method immediately at select merchant websites.

“By integrating Affirm with autofill on Chrome, we can deliver payment choice and flexibility seamlessly and at scale,” said Affirm svp of product Vishal Kapoor. “We are excited to expand our work with Google Pay and bring Affirm to many more consumers, through a checkout experience that combines flexibility and transparency with speed, security, and convenience.”
