Manchester United and Sokin, a UK-headquartered FinTech specialising in global payment solutions, have announced a multi-year partnership.
Under the agreement, Sokin has been named Manchester United’s Official Global Business Payment Solutions Partner.
The collaboration is aimed at boosting Manchester United’s global operations through smarter, faster business-to-business (B2B) payment capabilities. By leveraging Sokin’s expertise, the club seeks to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline its international financial activities.
Sokin operates a comprehensive global business payments platform that supports seamless cross-border transactions. The platform utilises AI to drive efficiencies and pass cost savings directly to clients, while enabling businesses to manage accounts payable, receivable, and treasury operations with clarity and control. Manchester United, founded in 1878, is one of the most recognisable sports brands globally, with a fanbase stretching across every continent and a long history of securing major sporting titles.
The partnership will see Sokin power the club’s international B2B payment activities, supporting seamless and efficient financial transactions worldwide. Sokin’s track record in the sports sector includes partnerships with several top European football clubs and the British & Irish Lions, for whom it provided payment services during the Test series in Australia this summer.
Marc Armstrong, Manchester United chief business officer, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sokin to the Manchester United family. Their global business payments infrastructure and forward-thinking approach align perfectly with our commitment to delivering best-in-class services and experiences to our fans and partners across the world.”
Sokin CEO Vroon Modgill said: “Partnering with Manchester United, one of the most iconic teams in global sport, represents a pivotal moment for Sokin and demonstrates the scale we’ve achieved as a business. The way United connects with hundreds of millions of supporters in every corner of the globe, mirrors our own ambition to empower businesses of all sizes to operate internationally, with ease and efficiency. This partnership perfectly embodies our mission to break down the barriers to global commerce – there’s no better partner than a club that defines what it means to be truly global.”
