Southampton FC extends FinTech deal with Ebury

Southampton

Southampton Football Club has renewed its partnership with Ebury, confirming the company will continue as its official FinTech partner for another season.

The collaboration, which first began in 2024, underlines both organisations’ shared commitment to innovation and global financial expertise.

Ebury, recognised as one of the world’s leading FinTech firms, specialises in international payments, currency risk management, and business lending. The partnership ensures that the company’s expertise continues to play a role in supporting the club’s financial operations. As part of the renewed deal, Ebury’s branding will remain highly visible at St Mary’s Stadium, including on the club’s digital display boards.

The extension builds on a relationship that has already delivered significant benefits for the Championship club. Southampton Football Club finance director Dave Driver said, “Ebury have been a fantastic partner to work with, providing a high level of expertise to support our finance operations. Together, we’re excited to keep building on the strong foundation we’ve created.”

The partnership goes beyond sponsorship, with a focus on providing Southampton with the kinds of secure, globally connected financial solutions that have become increasingly important in modern football. International trade, sponsorship revenues, and player transfers all create complex financial requirements for football clubs, making FinTech partnerships such as this one particularly valuable.

Ebury global head of sports Peter Brooks said, “We’re thrilled to extend our role as Official Fintech Partner of Southampton Football Club in the upcoming second and third seasons and look forward to their ongoing success in the championship. In today’s football industry, clubs like Southampton require fast, secure and globally connected financial solutions – exactly the kind of support Ebury specialises in delivering. Our experience working with leading sports organisations around the world means we’re uniquely placed to anticipate their evolving needs and help the club navigate the complexities of international trade and seize new opportunities.”

The renewed partnership highlights the growing role of FinTech in professional sport, particularly as clubs increasingly operate across international markets. By continuing its collaboration with Ebury, Southampton FC is signalling its commitment to combining financial innovation with on-field ambition.
