WEX, Trulioo unite to boost KYC and prevent fraud

WEX has partnered with Trulioo, a leading identity verification provider known for its global coverage in person and business verification.

The partnership aims to accelerate and secure the Know Your Customer (KYC) process for WEX’s European fuel card customers, replacing manual verification procedures with Trulioo’s automated document verification and biometric solutions. This comes at a time when digital onboarding faces increasing fraud threats and evolving regulatory demands.

WEX operates as a global payment processing and fleet management company, offering solutions to simplify business operations and provide a seamless experience for its customers. Meanwhile, Trulioo delivers a digital identity platform using document verification, biometrics, and machine learning to support regulatory compliance and fight fraud across various industries.

The partnership follows a competitive evaluation in which WEX cited Trulioo’s global document verification capabilities, expertise in KYC compliance, and superior user experience as key factors in its decision. The inclusion of guided document capture and post-capture feedback features were particularly valued by WEX, alongside the platform’s proven ability to detect fraudulent activities effectively.

Trulioo Document Verification uses advanced biometrics and machine learning to identify forgeries, deepfakes, and injection attacks. The platform, which has iBeta Level 2 certification and a 100% fraud catch rate, applies a proprietary algorithm trained on over 25 million images and analyses more than 200 biometric markers to ensure accuracy and inclusivity.
