Workday teams with Zuora on billing precision

Zuora has expanded its partnership with Workday to simplify revenue management for companies juggling increasingly complex billing models.

By integrating Zuora’s order-to-cash automation with Workday Financial Management, the collaboration aims to provide a unified solution for businesses dealing with subscriptions, usage-based pricing, and hybrid billing models.

This development comes as businesses respond to changing customer expectations by adopting more flexible pricing strategies. Managing different billing rules across multiple revenue streams can create operational headaches. The integration will help companies track revenue accurately, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and accelerate audit processes through automated reporting capabilities.

Zuora chief operating and financial officer Todd McElhatton said, “Today’s announcement highlights our continued commitment to Zuora and Workday customers, combining Workday’s trusted financial backbone with Zuora’s intelligent monetization engine to optimize the order-to-cash process.

“Together, we’re empowering finance to be a stronger strategic partner to the business, armed with the unified view of financial data necessary to go to market even faster.”

The partnership leverages the certified Zuora Connector for Workday Financial Management, which acts as a specialised sub-ledger in Workday Accounting Center. By automatically feeding financial data into Workday’s general ledger, the system reduces manual data entry and provides a single, consolidated view of financial operations.

Workday president and chief commercial officer Rob Enslin said, “Accuracy is a constant challenge for companies managing complex revenue streams. Our partnership with Zuora will provide customers with a single, reliable view of their financial data – making it easier to operate efficiently, no matter the business model.”
