Allianz UK, a leading general insurer, has partnered with Evoque Group Limited, a zero to landfill solutions specialist, to advance its sustainability strategy in claims management.
The collaboration begins with Allianz’s commercial property claims team. Evoque will assess items in claims, deciding which can be salvaged, resold, repurposed or recycled, according to InsurTech Insights.
Where possible, salvage value after costs will be credited back to claims, reducing expenses for customers.
Allianz offers a wide range of insurance services in the UK, while Evoque focuses on recycling and waste diversion. In 2024, Evoque prevented 3.3m kilograms of waste from reaching landfill, cutting 7,500 metric tonnes of CO₂. Its 2025 goal is 6m kilograms, with partnerships like Allianz crucial to this target.
The insurer plans to expand the model beyond commercial property, combining financial outcomes for customers with environmental benefits.
Matt Cox, Allianz UK chief claims officer, said, “Allianz puts a great emphasis on working sustainably and I am excited that we can add our partnership with Evoque to the work we have been doing across claims as part of our sustainability focus. Property salvage strategies are not consistent across the industry, so this is an opportunity for us to lead the way and enable our customers to act more sustainably too.”
