Tietoevry enters Germany’s ATM market with IC Cash

Zeidler Group is pleased to have advised Nomura Asset Management EU (NAM EU) on the successful launch of a French Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) and the attainment of the Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) label. The new global equity strategy aligns with some UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on energy and ecological transition. The launch required navigating both French and EU AIFMD rules along with strict SRI requirements. Zeidler Group acted as legal counsel throughout the transaction, advising on fund structuring and documentation, and engaging with regulators and label authorities. The team ensured that the fund’s investment framework, governance, and disclosures were fully aligned with both national regulations and the responsible investment criteria underpinning the SRI label. The result was a timely and compliant fund launch, with SRI accreditation secured shortly thereafter — reinforcing Nomura’s position as a sustainability-driven asset manager in the European market.

Tietoevry Banking has made its debut in Germany’s ATM market through a five-year software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreement with IC Cash Services.

The partnership will deliver a fully regulatory-compliant platform designed to streamline and secure cash distribution across IC Cash’s extensive European ATM network, which spans 2,500 locations.

The deal will not only improve operational efficiency but also reduce costs within Germany’s cash ecosystem, leveraging Tietoevry Banking’s experience in delivering similar benefits across the Nordics and the Netherlands. IC Cash and its subsidiary In2 Retail manage ATMs in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Spain, Denmark and Ireland, with this collaboration forming part of a wider strategy to expand their reach.

Tietoevry Banking managing director Mario Blazevic said, “Our partnership with IC Cash marks an important step as we bring our trusted ATM solution to Germany. For banks, ATM operators and consumers, this means more secure and efficient access to cash, supported by a robust and regulatory-compliant SaaS platform. Having already reduced costs and complexity in cash handling across the Nordics and the Netherlands, we are now well positioned to deliver the same benefits in the German market, including full support for the girocard system, which is central to the country’s payment ecosystem.”

IC Cash CEO Dr. Kersten Trojanus added, “Tietoevry Banking’s ATM platform gives us the technological foundation we need to scale efficiently across multiple markets. Covering the major card schemes including girocard in Germany, the proven multivendor approach and centralized, highly integrated operations model aligns perfectly with our ambitions to continue our growth in Europe.”

The partnership will initially focus on Germany and Austria, where the companies aim to introduce new efficiencies and develop next-generation ATM pooling solutions.

Tietoevry Banking’s ATM services already connect over 10,000 ATMs across the Nordics and the Netherlands. By introducing this model to Germany, the company expects to enhance cost efficiency and sustainability across a market with around 50,000 ATMs, strengthened by full integration with the domestic girocard system.
