Bolt has unveiled a new initiative called Bolt Activate, aimed at supporting the next wave of entrepreneurs in digital commerce.
The programme combines advanced checkout infrastructure, simplified onboarding and a curated founder community, with the goal of helping early-stage companies grow faster and more efficiently.
Bolt founder and CEO Ryan Breslow said, “The future of commerce won’t be written by the biggest companies with the deepest pockets. It will be built by independent founders who move fast, know their customers, and aren’t afraid to challenge the old playbook.
“With Bolt Activate, we’re giving those builders the foundation to scale, including enterprise-grade infrastructure, real community, and the freedom to focus on what matters most: creating. Our mission is simple: to make sure the next generation of iconic brands doesn’t just survive, but thrives.”
The programme is designed for early-stage businesses seeking reliable infrastructure to match their ambition. It targets direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands, gaming ventures, FinTech firms, consumer health companies, creator-led initiatives and retail-first players expanding into e-commerce. Participants gain access to Bolt’s one-click checkout and full product suite, while also joining a network of global founders who share insights, connections and peer support.
Unlike traditional accelerators, Bolt Activate allows founders to set the pace. Most brands launch within two to six weeks and remain part of Bolt’s partner ecosystem long after onboarding. Participants continue to benefit from the company’s leadership support, platform access and optimisation resources as their ventures scale.
The launch coincides with a record surge in entrepreneurship across the United States. Bolt claims that between 2021 and 2023, founders filed more than 5.2 million likely employer business applications, representing a one-third increase compared to pre-pandemic levels. Business formation has reached new highs, with startups on the rise across more than 80% of US counties.
Many of these companies are being launched by small teams or individual founders, rather than large, well-funded organisations. With limited technical resources and time, these entrepreneurs often struggle to stitch together fragmented technology stacks. Bolt Activate addresses this challenge by providing an all-in-one solution previously available only to the largest market players.
