Nuvei, a Canadian payments technology provider, has launched its new AI-powered Integration Agent designed to streamline merchant and partner connections to its global payments infrastructure.
The company said the new solution was created to address the complexity and time required for technical integration, enabling businesses to connect in hours rather than weeks. Faster integration reduces costly errors, speeds up revenue generation, and strengthens Nuvei’s broader AI-driven strategy to embed intelligence across the payments lifecycle.
Nuvei, which supports businesses globally with payment processing, card issuing, and banking services, has a strong focus on enterprise merchants. Its platform helps companies access over 600 payment methods in 200 markets, providing tools to boost conversion and efficiency at scale.
The Integration Agent, which is built on the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), simplifies technical onboarding by translating Nuvei’s documentation into a standardised format that large language models (LLMs) can interpret directly. This enables non-technical users to generate working integration code, significantly reducing the manual workload associated with payments connectivity.
Early adopters of the product have reported tangible benefits, including integration timelines reduced from weeks to hours, up to 40% fewer errors during setup, and complex issues resolved in less than 30 minutes. These improvements, combined with faster onboarding, give merchants a competitive advantage by accelerating their ability to optimise approval rates and reduce transaction costs.
The product is available in early access for select merchant partners, with a broader rollout planned for later this year. Nuvei also confirmed that additional AI-powered agents are expected in 2026 to further optimise fraud detection, revenue intelligence, and transaction performance.
Recent initiatives highlight Nuvei’s AI-first strategy, including an AI-powered underwriting engine that boosts automatic approvals for merchant applications and predictive interchange models that help lower costs while improving approval rates.
Nuvei chair and CEO Phil Fayer said, “AI is transforming payments by removing complexity and accelerating growth for businesses. This launch extends Nuvei’s AI strategy to embed intelligence across every layer of our platform, delivering greater speed, accuracy, and scale. The Integration Agent is one of several initiatives at Nuvei as we move towards full agentic commerce that are enabling enterprises to connect, optimise, and innovate across the payments lifecycle in new ways.”
