Klarna, the global digital bank and flexible payments provider, has announced a new partnership with Qatar Airways, to bring flexible payments to 17 markets.

The collaboration, facilitated through payments technology company Worldpay, will enable travellers to choose Klarna’s flexible payment solutions when booking flights with Qatar Airways.

The partnership aims to enhance the travel booking experience by providing greater flexibility and control at checkout.

Customers can now select how they wish to pay—whether paying in full, later, or in instalments—helping travellers manage their budgets with ease.

Klarna, headquartered in Sweden, provides a range of payment services including “Pay in 30 days”, “Pay in 3” interest-free instalments, and financing options for longer-term plans. The company operates across more than 45 countries and partners with over 500,000 retailers globally.

Qatar Airways, based in Doha, is renowned for its award-winning service, connecting more than 170 destinations worldwide. Its premium offerings, such as the Qsuite business class and onboard Starlink wifi, have cemented its reputation as a leader in airline innovation.

Through its integration with Klarna via Worldpay, Qatar Airways will offer Klarna’s payment methods across 17 European markets including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands.

This rollout forms part of Klarna and Worldpay’s expanded strategic partnership, which makes Klarna a default payment option for Worldpay’s global merchant network.

The move underscores Klarna’s growing footprint in the travel industry, where leading platforms such as Expedia, Airbnb, and Booking.com already use its services. Travel has become one of Klarna’s fastest-growing verticals, driven by consumer demand for flexibility and convenience.

David Sykes, Klarna chief commercial officer, said: “This partnership makes clear the growing global demand for greater flexibility and control when booking travel. With a single integration, Qatar Airways is now bringing Klarna to millions of travellers across 17 countries—providing a smoother, smarter booking experience that fits the way people prefer to pay today.”

Qatar Airways SVP of digital commercial, Christophe Guittard, said: “This partnership reflects our commitment to customer empowerment and experience excellence. By partnering with Klarna, we’re making the Qatar Airways booking journey more convenient—giving our customers greater confidence and at the point of payment.”

Worldpay general manager, EMEA global enterprise, Pete Wickes, said: “By integrating Klarna’s flexible payment options, Qatar Airways is empowering travellers to book and pay for their journeys in the way that suits them.
