Innovation sits at the heart of nCino’s corporate culture, where experimentation and continuous learning fuel progress. From weekly ‘Innovation Fridays’—sessions where teams showcase new ideas—to ‘Intelligence at Work’ discussions led by CEO Sean Desmond, the company has created an environment where innovation thrives.
When nCino introduced Claude for Enterprise to all employees, it sparked a wave of experimentation across departments.
Teams quickly found creative ways to incorporate the AI tool into daily operations, leading to measurable productivity gains. CEO Sean Desmond said, “Every day, our employees are showing how the right technology can make people more effective at what they do best. When we see an estimated $500,000 in time savings going straight back into innovation and customer focus, that’s the kind of impact we’re after.”
AI-powered code reviews
Within the Product, Development, and Engineering teams, one of nCino’s most notable AI projects is “Craftsmanship Horse.”
The custom-built system integrates Claude Sonnet 4.0 via AWS Bedrock to automate code reviews. Led by master staff engineer Dan Wuensch, the initiative helps identify efficiency gaps, security risks, and code compliance issues. According to internal analysis, it has saved around $500,000 in review time.
Dan Wuensch said, “We’re providing additional validation that helps us maintain quality and security standards while moving quickly. AI can find needles in haystacks that even expert reviewers might miss.”
Beyond improving accuracy, Craftsmanship Horse has been designed to behave like an encouraging mentor, providing affirmations alongside constructive feedback. The team is already developing Version 2, which will include agentic AI capabilities and deeper Claude Code integrations. A humorous “Comedy Roast Mode” has also been added to make code review sessions more engaging.
Streamlining technical communication
The technical communication team has also embraced Claude for Enterprise to optimise documentation workflows. By integrating Claude with nCino’s content management system, the team can automatically transfer, refine, and format product documentation from multiple sources.
Senior technical communicator Kallee Britton said, “We can transfer drafts from multiple sources or generate documentation entirely through Claude. This integration is fundamentally changing the volume and quality of documentation we can produce.”
This streamlined process allows the team to dedicate more time to improving content strategy and enhancing user experience, significantly cutting manual editing tasks.
Smarter learning automation
nCino’s Learning & Enablement division has leveraged Claude to automate user management workflows. Using Claude-powered automation, the system now handles authentication, data processing, and permissions updates seamlessly.
Learning & Enablement operations consultant Alex Driggs explained, “We saved approximately 30 hours of retroactive work, plus about 5 minutes per user update. The system eliminates daily manual checking, ensuring our learning platform permissions stay current with organisational changes.”
Scaling Claude across the company
To support wider adoption, principal knowledge content taxonomy specialist Alex Barley runs hands-on workshops that teach teams how to design effective prompts and create consistent AI outputs.
“The projects already pre-contain the prompts that everyone helped develop, ensuring we’re creating the exact same output,” Alex said. This model has proven successful in rolling out self-service Claude projects across departments, making AI tools more accessible to all employees.
Looking ahead
The success of these initiatives inspired nCino’s Global Revenue Organisation to launch the “Claudie Awards,” recognising employees who creatively apply Claude in their roles.
Paul Clarkson, EVP of global revenue, said, “Creating internal AI tooling with Claude for Enterprise not only helps us operate more efficiently but offers opportunities to learn about maximising the technology, which we can then pass along to our customers.”
As nCino continues to expand its Claude for Enterprise and Claude Code projects, the company’s focus remains on purposeful innovation—enhancing both employee capabilities and customer value.
