Ondato has announced the launch of AML Ranger, an AI-powered assistant designed to automate real-time AML compliance checks.
The product is now live and available for free use, marking a new step in the firm’s mission to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of compliance tools.
The launch of AML Ranger responds to the growing need for automation in AML operations. As financial institutions continue to struggle with inefficiencies and the high cost of manual compliance processes, the tool aims to help compliance teams manage increasing workloads and regulatory expectations without expanding headcount.
Founded to simplify and strengthen digital compliance, Ondato offers a comprehensive suite of Know Your Customer (KYC) and AML solutions. Its technology supports financial institutions and regulated businesses in verifying customer identities, performing due diligence, and managing compliance workflows securely and efficiently.
AML Ranger leverages Ondato’s established compliance infrastructure to deliver automated monitoring with precision and speed. The tool features three assistants — for PEP screening, sanctions checks, and adverse media monitoring — which perform real-time analyses across global and local data sources. By using AI to detect contextual information, the system reduces false positives, streamlines decision-making, and produces accurate reports in seconds.
According to Ondato, AML Ranger has been engineered to replace time-consuming manual work with intelligent automation. The platform analyses media, sanctions, and PEP lists in real time, summarising relevant information into concise, actionable reports. Its advanced AI ensures each alert is grounded in verified, contextual data, offering teams greater confidence in their compliance results.
The need for such solutions is rising as global regulators tighten AML standards. In Europe, the new Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) will begin operations in 2025, introducing a harmonised rulebook across the EU. At the same time, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has updated its recommendations, calling for stronger due diligence and continuous monitoring. AML Ranger helps businesses of all sizes adapt to these developments — from major financial institutions to smaller firms lacking dedicated compliance teams.
The product is now available with free monthly credits and includes the Adverse Media Ranger, PEP Screening Ranger, and Sanctions Screening Ranger, with additional assistants planned for future releases. It promises to make enterprise-grade AML automation more accessible, reducing the need for manual reviews while improving speed and accuracy in compliance operations.
Ondato CEO Liudas Kanapienis said, “For many teams today, AML checks still mean hours of manual work: reading through hundreds of articles, piecing together context, searching databases, and struggling with unclear results. AML Ranger was built to change that. It scans AML sources in real time just like a human would, but instead of getting lost in hundreds of articles and lists, it analyzes the context, summarizes findings, and delivers clear reports with sources and insights in less than 30 seconds instead of hours or days.”
