Veeam Software has announced plans to acquire Securiti AI, a pioneer in data security posture management (DSPM) and AI trust, for $1.725bn.
The acquisition unites two leaders in data protection and governance, combining Veeam’s expertise in backup and recovery with Securiti AI’s strengths in privacy, governance, and AI-driven data intelligence.
The acquisition aims to create a unified platform that brings together data resilience, privacy, and AI trust. This integration will enable enterprises to manage fragmented data across multiple environments — from applications and endpoints to SaaS and cloud — within a single control centre. The unified platform will allow CIOs, CISOs, and CDOs to secure data with near-zero loss, recover it with precision, and safely enable AI-driven innovation.
Veeam Software is recognised as the world’s leading data resilience provider, known for its robust solutions that protect and recover data from cyber threats, human error, and system failures. Securiti AI, meanwhile, is celebrated for its Data Command Center, which uses an advanced knowledge graph and agentic AI framework to unify data intelligence and automate key data security and compliance processes across hybrid multi-cloud environments.
By merging Veeam’s trusted data protection capabilities with Securiti AI’s intelligence-driven DSPM and privacy tools, the companies aim to help organisations understand, secure, and leverage their full data estate for AI applications. This approach directly addresses the growing challenge of unstructured data management, cyber risks, and tightening regulatory requirements that often hinder enterprise AI adoption.
Industry experts have praised the acquisition as a major step forward in closing the gap between data security and resilience. Paul Stringfellow, senior analyst for security and risk at GigaOm, said the integration “represents an evolution in how organisations approach protection and governance of their information in an AI-driven landscape,” adding that it bridges “the gap between security, governance, compliance, and resilience.”
Veeam CEO Anand Eswaran said, “We’ve entered a new era for data. It’s no longer about just protecting data from cyber threats and unforeseen disasters; it’s also about identifying all your data, ensuring it’s governed and trusted to power AI transparently. This is the single most critical factor in failed AI initiatives. By combining the market-leading strengths of Veeam and Securiti AI, we bring those capabilities together in a single solution to help customers understand, secure, recover, and rollback, and unleash their data to drive new business value.”
Securiti AI CEO Rehan Jalil said, “Enterprise AI is simply not possible without data security. Securiti AI solves that and enables the safe use of data and AI. Bringing together our unique capabilities with Veeam, the global leader in data resilience, creates a new value proposition for customers with one data command center delivering data resilience, DSPM, privacy, governance, and AI trust for your entire data estate.”
Following the completion of the transaction, Jalil will join Veeam as president of security and AI. His career includes founding several successful technology ventures, such as Elastica, WiChorus, and leading Symantec’s cloud security business.
