Google veteran John Herlihy joins WealthOS as chairman

A former Google and LinkedIn executive, John Herlihy, has joined WealthOS as its first chairman, bringing more than three decades of experience in scaling European operations for major global technology companies.

Herlihy began his career in California, where he held leadership roles at Adobe, Oracle and First Data before returning to Ireland in 2005. There, he led Google’s EMEA operations, growing the business to a multibillion-dollar revenue engine with a 3,500-person team.

Following this, he spent six years at LinkedIn as vice president for EMEA and LATAM. He now holds non-executive directorships across several high-growth European technology firms, including OpenAI (Ireland).

Founded in 2019 by Anton Padmasiri and Chamat Arambewela, WealthOS is a London-headquartered WealthTech SaaS company specialising in cloud-native, middle- and back-office technology for wealth management institutions. Its modular platform enables firms to accelerate digital transformation, achieve three times faster product development, and reduce operational costs by 40%.

WealthOS chairman John Herlihy said, “What has impressed me most about WealthOS is the team’s innate ability to understand finance and technology equally. Anton and Chamat have deep, genuine domain expertise – a quality that I recognised from my first meeting with them. Many fintech founders have a great tech solution and are chasing a problem. That was never the case here.

“WealthOS has identified a fundamental problem in the plumbing that underpins the global wealth management market, and they’re building a modern, fintech-led way that not only resolves that issue, but removes complexity and creates enviable competitive advantage.”

Herlihy initially joined the company as an angel investor and steps into the chair role at a key inflection point for WealthOS. In partnership with Quai Digital, a digital savings and investment platform services provider, WealthOS recently completed the migration of 126,000 investment accounts from FNZ in just seven months—one of the largest transitions of its kind.

The migration, carried out for Quai Digital’s client The Children’s ISA, involved transferring data, cash and assets within four weeks. By year-end, WealthOS and Quai Digital are expected to have migrated over £400m in assets for clients.

WealthOS founder and CEO Anton Padmasiri said, “Since John joined WealthOS, his depth of experience has had an immediate impact across our organisation. John is one of the rare executives who truly understands company scaling, he knows the critical breakpoints as companies grow and how to navigate them gracefully.

“Having operated at the highest levels of the technology industry throughout his career, John brings the pattern recognition and strategic perspective that only comes from guiding companies through transformative growth. 2025 has been a transformative year for WealthOS, one in which we’ve validated our vision and delivered exceptional value to our first customers. With John now stepping into the chair role, I’m confident that 2026 will be even more successful as we scale to meet the opportunity ahead.”

WealthOS is backed by Barclays and Main Set, part of international investment firm Capricorn Capital Partners UK, and has operations in both the UK and Sri Lanka.
