Climate X, a leading climate risk intelligence firm, has announced a strategic collaboration with Fathom, a global authority in flood risk data and modelling, to establish a new industry benchmark for climate resilience.
This integration embeds Fathom’s Global Flood model into Climate X’s advanced platforms, creating a comprehensive and actionable climate model stack available on the market.
The partnership responds to growing climate-related losses, as flooding continues to threaten global economies and infrastructure. Between 2018 and 2023, flood-related damages exceeded $100bn annually in four out of five years, according to Fathom.
Founded to empower institutions with climate foresight, Climate X combines scientific modelling and financial analytics to assess the physical risks of climate change. The company models 12 different natural hazards—including wildfires, tropical cyclones, landslides, and extreme heat—translating this data into measurable impacts on operating expenditure, capital expenditure, and revenue.
Fathom’s contribution brings a new layer of precision to Climate X’s platforms, Spectra and Adapt. By incorporating millions of simulated flood events, the joint model stack enables users to evaluate risk exposure and potential financial losses across individual assets and entire portfolios. This integration provides a climate-informed view of both current and future risks, supporting smarter investment and adaptation strategies.
The enhanced flood intelligence from Fathom will be fully integrated and available to Climate X clients by early 2026.
Fathom chief sales officer and head of ESG & climate risk Karena Vaughan said, “Fathom is thrilled about this collaboration, which showcases the value of cross-industry partnerships in advancing climate risk understanding. By combining Fathom’s independently validated flood data with Climate X’s cutting-edge climate risk analytics, we’re equipping the industry to access more precise, science-based insights that will help asset owners adapt and invest with confidence.”
Climate X COO and co-founder Kamil Kluza said, “This partnership marks an important step forward for Climate X clients, adding world-class flood intelligence from Fathom to our already advanced models[…] Integrating Fathom’s models into our product suite reinforces Climate X’s position as the global leader in climate resilience.”
