Love Finance appoints ex-Monzo leader to risk role

Love Finance, one of the UK’s fastest-growing SME lender and broker, has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of Selen Cagirgan as its new head of credit and risk.

Founded in 2016, the company continues its mission to simplify business finance for SMEs across the UK.

Love Finance provides direct lending and brokerage services designed to make business finance simple, fast and accessible. The platform allows SMEs to enquire in 60 seconds, check eligibility within five minutes and receive funding in as little as four hours.

To date, the company has funded over £350m in loans, supporting more than 7,000 SMEs across every sector in the UK and maintaining a 5-star Trustpilot rating.

Cagirgan joins Love Finance with more than 15 years of experience in credit analytics, risk governance and portfolio management across leading FinTech companies and financial institutions.

Her previous roles include head of credit risk at Monzo Bank, where she built the bank’s credit risk framework, and a senior role at LemFi, where she launched and rapidly scaled its lending arm within seven months.

In her new position, she will lead underwriting, credit and risk operations, shaping Love Finance’s credit strategy and developing scalable frameworks that support sustainable growth. She will report directly to chief commercial officer Alex O’Malley.

The company has also appointed Tina While-Cooper as its new head of HR, policy & operations, further strengthening its operational and leadership capabilities as it continues to scale.
